DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - According to a statement from the NBA League Office via Twitter, Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic has had his 16th technical foul rescinded upon further review.
"Luka Dončić’s (DAL) technical foul (7:51, 3rd qtr) from the game on 3/26/23 has been rescinded upon league office review," the NBA tweeted.
The technical occurred in the third quarter of the Mavs ugly Sunday loss to the Charlotte Hornets, and was set to result in Doncic being suspended for Monday night's matchup with the Indiana Pacers, per league rules.
Now, Doncic will be able to take the floor on Monday night against his former head coach, Rick Carlisle, in what is a critical game for the Mavs playoff hopes.
The Mavs, who sit at 36-39 on the season, currently sit just one game back of the Lakers and Thunder for a spot in the play in game, with seven games remaining on the schedule.
The Mavs are also just 3.5 games out of the fourth place spot, held by the Phoenix Suns.
Should the Mavs fall to the 33-42 Pacers, their prospects of making the playoffs in any regard, play-in game or not, will take a major hit.
The Mavs and Pacers will tip off at 6 pm central time on NBATV.
