DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Mavericks started training camp on Wednesday, in preparation for what they hope will be a bounce back season in multiple regards.

One thing that could potentially stand in the way of that, is the health of Luka Doncic, who was injured his quad this summer in the FIBA World Cup - an injury he originally suffered at the end of last season.

On Wednesday, Doncic provided an update on that injury, noting some positive progress.

"It's better," Doncic said on Wednesday. "We still have some appointments, so when we get a clear [idea] of what it is, we'll let you guys know."

Last season for Dallas, Doncic averaged 32.4 points, 8.6 rebounds, 8.0 assists and 1.4 steals in 36 minutes per game.

Assuming his health, Doncic should once again be a top contender for the NBA's MVP award.
