The Mavericks are bringing seven-time All-Star forward/center LaMarcus Aldridge in for a workout Tuesday, ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

Aldridge, 37, hasn't played this season after averaging 12.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.0 blocks across 47 games with the Nets during the 2021-22 season. He suffered a hip injury in early March and only appeared in two games the rest of the season.

Aldridge, a Seagoville High School alum, was taken by the Portland Trail Blazers with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft. After nine seasons in Portland, the former Texas Longhorn spent the next six seasons with the San Antonio Spurs. He joined the Nets midway through the 2021 season but was forced to retire because of issues stemming from an irregular heartbeat.

He came out of retirement five months later and signed a one-year deal with the Nets.
