The Dallas Mavericks have made another trade, but this one won't burn the city down.
Dallas traded shooting guard Quentin Grimes and a 2025 second-round pick to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for forward Caleb Martin.
Martin, 29, is in the first year of a four-year, $28 million deal he signed with the Sixers ahead of the 2024-25 season. He's averaging 9.1 points on 43.5 percent shooting from the field and 37.9 percent from three-point range.
Martin has been out since Jan. 10 due to a hip injury, but he returned to practice recently and was questionable for Tuesday's matchup, which is fittingly against the Mavericks.
Grimes, 24, was averaging 10.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game for the Mavericks this season. In 47 games, he shot 46.3 percent from the field and nearly 40 percent (39.8) from deep.
