Mavericks erase 18-point lead, win Game 2 on Luka Doncic's late 3-pointer

Luka Doncic nailed a three pointer with just over three seconds left in the fourth quarter to cap an 18-point comeback win over the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals on Friday night.

Dallas was down by 12 at halftime and cut the deficit to seven at the end of the third quarter on the back of Doncic, who scored 11 points in the frame.

In the fourth, it was Kyrie Irving's turn, as the guard nailed three three-pointers in less than four minutes to give Dallas the lead.

The game seesawed back in forth until the very end of the contest with Dallas in possession of the ball, down two, with 12 seconds left on the clock.

PJ Washington inbounded the pass to Doncic, who was guarded by Jaden McDaniels near half court. Mavs center Dereck Lively set a screen, forcing Timberwolves big-man Rudy Gobert to guard Doncic. And that's when the superstar went to work, pulled off his patented step-back three-point shot, swishing it to give Dallas a one-point lead with three seconds left.

Wolves big-man, Naz Reid, who was scorching hot from three all night, missed a game-winning three at the buzzer, giving Dallas a 2-0 edge with the series heading back to North Texas on Sunday.
