Mavs Doncic wins 3rd Western Conference Player of the Week award

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic's magic 2020-21 season has been breathtaking to watch thus far, and on Monday, he earned some recognition for it, after being named the Western Conference Player of the Week for the week of Monday, March 29 through Sunday, April 4.

It is the second time this season Doncic has been awarded the honor, and the third time in his three-year career.


During that week, Dončić led the Mavs to a 4-0 record, averaging 28.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 1.0 steal per game, while hitting 54.4% from the floor and 40.5% from three-point range.

Doncic also becomes just the third player in Mavs history along side Dirk Nowitzki and Josh Howard more than once in the same season, and also joins Nowitzki, Jason Kidd and Michael Finley as one of four players in Mavs history to win the award at least three times in their career.

In 43 games this season, Dončić is averaging 28.6 points, 8.1 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game, while hitting a career-high 48.8% from the field, and ranks fourth in the NBA in triple-doubles with nine.
