DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Mavericks are looking to fit the right puzzle pieces around their superstar Luka Doncic in free agency. Might a Los Angeles Clipper do the trick?

According to 105.3 The Fan's Mike Fisher and Sports Illustrated's Sam Amico, the Mavericks are interested in Clippers forward Montrezl Harrell.

Harrell, the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year, and the Clippers share a "mutual interest" in him returning next season, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Among the other teams that have an interest in the 26-year-old include the Toronto Raptors, Chicago Bulls and New York Knicks, per Amico.

What would Harrell bring to the Mavericks?

"The Mavs front office has made no secret of wishing to add some 'tough-guy attitude' to the roster. ... and Harrell, as he demonstrated with his racial-slur conflict with Doncic in Round 1, is not afraid to play the role of the heel," says Fish .Harrell, of course, later apologized directly to Doncic for the slur.

Harrell is coming off of a two-year, $12 million contract, so he may not be as expensive as some might think. His price might have even gone down due to his limited performance in the post-season. After averaging 18.6 points and 7.1 rebounds in the regular season, Harrell's averages dropped to 10.5 points and 2.9 rebounds per game in the playoffs.
