DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Mavericks added some back-court help on Thursday, officially signing former New York Knicks lottery pick Frank Ntilikina to an undisclosed deal, the team announced.
Originally drafted No. 8 overall by the Knicks in 2017, Ntilikina has spent the last four seasons in New York, averaging 5.5 points and 2.7 assists in 211 games.
Ntilikina was coveted by the Mavericks at one point during the draft process, but was taken one selection before the Mavericks picked, prompting them to select former point guard Dennis Smith Jr. at with the No. 9 overall selection.
Ntilikina competed in the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, helping France win a silver medal.
the addition of Ntilikina gives now balloons the Dallas roster out to 20 players. The regular-season max is 15, meaning five players must go before October 19.
