DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Surprise! Mavericks center Kristaps Porzingis is expected to play Wednesday vs the Rockets, coach Rick Carlisle told the media Tuesday.
That's a complete change from what Carlisle said Monday before the Mavs win over the Western Conference-leading Utah Jazz when he said that Porzingis could miss multiple games with a sprained wrist.
Carlisle said Porzingis' wrist was feeling better today and the expectation is that he will suit up vs Houston.
The 25-year-old has played in just 31 of the Mavs 49 games so far this season.
In those 31 games, Porzingis is averaging 20.2 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game, while hitting 47.4-percent from the floor and 35.9-percent from three.
