DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Dallas' wing Josh Richardson will become a free agent after the upcoming season after he and the Mavericks elected not to pursue a contract extension before today's 6 p.m. deadline, Marc Stein of the New York Times reported Monday.
Richardson will earn $11.6 million in the final year of his contract, according to Spotrac.
Stein adds that the Mavs have "high hopes" for Richardson this upcoming season as he gets the opportunity to play alongside Luka Doncic.
Dallas acquired Richardson in a draft night trade that sent guard Seth Curry to the Philadelphia 76ers.
