DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Mavericks have added some much needed wing depth to the rotation on Wednesday, signing free agent Derrick Jones Jr. to a one-year, fully guaranteed deal, according to reports.
Jones most recently spent time with the Bulls, averaging 5.0 points and 2.4 rebounds in 14 minutes per game.
Jones, 26, is known for his athleticism and prowess on the defensive end of the floor, and should provide a solid wing defender for Dallas next season.
For his career, Jones is averaging 6.3 points and 3.2 rebounds in 18.7 minutes per game, and is a 50.8 percent career shooter from the field.
He also averages 30.4 percent from beyond the arc in his eight seasons.
