Mavs sign forward Marquese Chriss, shooting guard Theo Pinson

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Mavericks will sign forward/center Marquese Chriss and shooting guard Theo Pinson to free-agent deals, Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Dallas signed both players as replacements for Josh Green and Reggie Bullock, who were placed in the NBA's health and safety protocols over the weekend.

Chriss, who was taken by the Sacramento Kings with the eighth overall pick in the 2016 draft and later traded to the Phoenix Suns, is averaging 8 points and 4.9 rebounds per game over his five-year career. He last appeared in an NBA game with the Golden State Warriors last season.

Pinson went undrafted in the 2018 draft but was signed to a two-way contract with the Brooklyn Nets. He was eventually waived in 2020 and was picked up by the New York Knicks. In 68 career games, Pinson averaged 3 points and 1.4 rebounds in 9 minutes per game.

In 12 G League games with the Maine Celtics, Pinson has averaged 16.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists.
