DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - In desperate need of back-court depth, the Dallas Mavericks made a significant acquisition on Wednesday, signing veteran point guard Isaiah Thomas to a hardship deal ahead of their matchup with the Sacramento Kings.
Thomas will be activated immediately for the Mavericks, and will suit up and be ready to come off of the Mavs bench in Wednesday's game.

A 13-year NBA veteran, Thomas comes to the Mavericks after a four-game stint with the Los Angeles Lakers, in which he averaged 9.3 points, and 1.5 assists per game, while hitting 30.8 percent from the field and 22.7 percent from three.
Thomas started one game for the Lakers.
In his 13 seasons, Thomas is one of the more offensively dynamic players in recent memory, averaging 18 points and 4.9 assists for his career.
His best season came in the 2016-17 campaign in which he averaged 28.9 points per game for the Boston Celtics. Since that season, his top output came in 2017-18 with the Lakers, where he averaged 15.7 points per game.
In other news for the Mavs, center Boban Marjanovic and point guard Brandon Knight will be forced to miss Wednesday night's game after entering health and safety protocols.
The Mavs and Kings will tip off and 9:30 PM CT from the Sleep Train Arena.
