With Kyrie Irving now a Dallas Maverick, there is much speculation regarding what could be next for for the franchise - particularly, if there is another big move on the horizon.

And according to sports radio personality Colin Cowherd, that is exactly what could be coming for the Mavs.
This time, by way of the Los Angeles Lakers and star big man, Anthony Davis, who could be the third star alongside Irving and Luka Doncic.
"LeBron and his camp have been frustrated by how many minutes he has to play," Cowherd said in a recent radio appearance. "They are also mad that Darvin Ham is not keeping the pressure on Anthony Davis. They can’t depend on Anthony Davis. They’re a little upset that Darvin Ham is not keeping the pressure on Anthony Davis… I talked to an NBA source who I’ve known for a long time, he said the Dallas Mavericks and Anthony Davis, keep your eye on it.”
Putting aside the fact that Dallas' main priority before a move like this would be to sign Irving to an extension, adding Davis into the fold alongside the star Mavs back court combo would be extremely intriguing.
But how would something like this work for Dallas?
As far as we see it, the only possible scenario would be for the Lakers to be willing to take on the contracts of Tim Hardaway Jr. ($19.6 million) and Davis Bertans ($16 million), along with future draft picks - which would likely a pair of first round picks.
The Mavs will be able to attach those future first round picks after the 2023 first rounder conveys to the Knicks (Porzingis trade).
The issue would be that aforementioned willingness to take on Hardaway and Bertans by the Lakers.
Perhaps a third team would need to get involved for the Lakers to pull the trigger... assuming, that is, that the Lakers don't get a better offer from somewhere else for Davis.
But considering the Lakers are starving for future assets, and this trade would be one way for them to acquire that, while also being able to move off of Davis, who Cowherd says LeBron James is frustrated with.
And as we are all well aware, if LeBron James wants something - whether it is acquiring or getting rid of a player - he usually gets his way.
