The NBA has announced the postponement of the Warriors' Friday night contest with the Dallas Mavericks following the tragic death of assistant coach Dejan Milojević.
The league released a statement saying that it was postponing the game due to Milojević's death. As it did with the Warriors' postponed matchup with the Utah Jazz, the league said the rescheduled date would be announced at a later time. It said it would broadcast the Nets-Lakers game in its place.
Milojević, 46, died of a sudden heart attack suffered Tuesday night in Salt Lake City, Utah. The former European pro had an extensive, successful coaching history in Serbia before joining the Warriors and winning a championship in 2022. He is survived by his wife Natasa, and his children, Nikola and Masa.
He was a deeply loved member of the Warriors organization. The Warriors' statement following his death and more background on his accomplishments can be found here.
