Report: Mavs Luka Doncic "will be cleared" for Game 4 return

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - It's not officially official, but Mavs superstar guard Luka Doncic is poised to make his 2022 NBA playoff debut against the Utah Jazz in Game 4 on Saturday afternoon.

According to Bally Sports Southwest's Marc Stein, Doncic "will be cleared to play today in Utah after one last pre-game check," according to his sources.

Doncic will likely be on a minutes restriction in his first game action since suffering a strained calf in the Mavs' final regular-season game on April 10, Stein reports.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski added that there is "increasing optimism" that Doncic will be able to play after being sidelined for the past 13 days.

Mavs head coach Jason Kidd will make a formal announcement on Doncic's status with he speaks with the media about 90 minutes before Saturday's game. Tipoff is set for 3:30 p.m. CT.
