DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Mavericks are rumored to be interested in Indiana Pacers big man Myles Turner. What type of deal could the Mavs make to get him to Dallas?
According to Bleacher Report's Eric Pincus, the Mavs are viewed by several competing executives as the favorites to land Turner in a trade.
Further complicating matters is the fact that Turner has a stress reaction in his left foot, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. It's unlikely that any team will make a play for the big man from Euless Trinity until he's re-evaluated in two weeks.
Additionally, Marc Stein reports that the Mavs interest in Turner was fading even before news of Turner's foot injury came out due to their improved defensive efficiency. That could be true, but it could also be the Mavericks using Stein to try and improve their negotiating position with the Pacers.
The NBA Trade Deadline is on Thursday, Feb. 10.
