DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Stars canceled their training camp practice on Friday, and now we know why.

The team announced this morning that six players and two staff members have tested positive for COVID-19. Those individuals are now in self-isolation in accordance with the CDC and league's protocols.

The Stars practice facility in Frisco has been shut down and will remain closed for several days while they conduct more testing and contract tracing.

Furthermore, the Stars' regular-season schedule is expected to be altered as they likely won't be cleared in time to play in their season opener on Jan. 14 vs the Panthers.

This is a developing news story.
