NHL insider Sean Shapiro joined host Gavin Spittle to discuss the Vegas Golden Knights’ hiring of John Tortorella and Pete DeBoer joining the New York Islanders. The pair analyzed why both coaching moves occurred so late in the regular season.

Turning to tonight’s matchup, the Calgary Flames are 6-3-2 in their last 11 games. Despite their record, Shapiro noted the Flames will not be an easy win for the Dallas Stars, reminding fans that no victory is guaranteed in the NHL.

The Stars currently hold a two-point lead over the Minnesota Wild ahead of a pivotal game between the clubs Thursday. Additionally, the Frozen Four semifinals are set for Thursday, followed by the championship Saturday. The duo also discussed whether University of Denver coach David Carle might soon be in line for an NHL head coaching position.
