DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Stars will be without two of their key players when the next season is expected to begin on Jan. 1.

Stars netminder Ben Bishop underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee on Oct. 21, the club announced Tuesday. Bishop is expected to miss the next five months while he recovers from the procedure.

Dallas has depth at the goaltender position as they re-signed Anton Khudobin this offseason to pair with Bishop once again. Dallas also has 21-year-old Jake Oettiner waiting in the wings for his opportunity.

Additionally, Stars center Tyler Seguin will also miss the next five months after he underwent surgery on his right hip on Nov. 2.
