DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - According to multiple reports, the Dallas Stars made a major acquisition on Wednesday morning, signing defenseman Ryan Suter to a four-year, $14.6 million deal.

"Ryan is a true professional and will be a great fit in our top-four," said Nill. "He has a huge influence on the game with his ability to diffuse plays which injects a sense of calmness into his teammates. He is able to play in every situation and as a veteran of 16 NHL seasons, his wealth of experience will be a great addition to our dressing room."

Suter, 36, spent the last 10 seasons with the Minnesota Wild, where he scored three goals, had 16 assists, and finished the season with a plus/minus of nine.

The best year of Suter's career came in the 2016-17 season, when he scored nine goals, had 31 assists, and a career-high plus/minus of 34.

Suter now brings a veteran Sergei Zubov-esq style defenseman to the Stars, who were in desperate need of help on the defensive side of the ice.
