Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase aren't the only former college quarterback-wide receiver duo that have a chance to be reunited in the first round of the NFL Draft Thursday night.

While not nearly as accomplished together, the Philadelphia Eagles could very well use the No. 12 pick on DeVonta Smith, reuniting him with Jalen Hurts. Smith, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, sounds intrigued by that possibility.

“It would be great. Jalen is a very talented QB and I’d love to play with him again," Smith told Jeff Kerr of CBS Sports. "He’s a competitor and is going to give you a chance to win every game.”

Smith and Hurts were teammates at Alabama during the 2017 and 2018 seasons, before both peaked as collegiate players.

Hurts was famously benched by Nick Saban in the second half of Alabama's victory over Georgia in the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship Game. Tua Tagovailoa led Alabama to a victory, and would ultimately get the bulk of the 2018 regular season action. That forced Hurts to transfer to Oklahoma for his senior season, where he became a legitimate NFL prospect at the position under the tutelage of Lincoln Riley, tossing 32 touchdowns and rushing for nearly 1,300 yards in his lone season at the school.

Smith, meanwhile, had to wait his turn at Alabama behind Calvin Ridley, Henry Ruggs III and Jerry Jeudy, among others. Though Smith had 853 total receiving yards in his first two seasons for the Crimson Tide, he exploded over his final two campaigns, tallying 185 catches for 3,112 yards and 37 receiving touchdowns.

While Burrow and Chase would be hoping to rekindle an old flame from their time at LSU, Hurts and Smith would be interesting in the sense that they'd be aiming to have much more success together at the NFL level than they had the chance to in college.
