The Giants added yet another player to the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Thursday, as cornerback Adoree' Jackson becomes the seventh entry over the last two days.
Jackson, who missed New York's last two games with a quad injury, is out for Sunday’s game against the Cowboys and cannot return to the team for at least 10 days.
Jackson joins wide receivers Kadarius Toney and John Ross, linebackers Cam Brown and Oshane Ximines, and cornerback Aaron Robinson, who have all tested positive, while safety Xavier McKinney was added to the list as a close contact.
As a close contact, McKinney could return to the team by Saturday if he continues to test negative, while any vaccinated players who test positive can return to the team if they register two negative tests at least 24 hours apart.
The NFL had a record 37 players test positive on Tuesday, and was nearing that number again by Wednesday afternoon. The Players Association responded by once again pushing for daily testing, while the league will meet to discuss enhancing its COVID-19 protocols.
As for the Giants, head coach Joe Judge told reporters that the team will meet virtually to help prevent further spread.
