Andrew Clay, a sportscaster for KATC in Lafayette, Louisiana, was hindered by the NCAA’s rules on showing highlights of the LSU-Michigan game during Monday’s broadcast because he had to wait for the CBS postgame show to end before doing so.
Clay had two choices: skip the highlights or get creative.
He chose the latter, and nothing says creativity more than opening up Microsoft Paint.
The sportscaster opted to draw his own highlights in the very old, basic photo-editing application that has been a part of Windows computers since 1985.
And, they were actually pretty good! He even had flames coming from the ball in one picture.
Clay went through the highlights of his own drawings based on plays from No. 1 Michigan’s 86-78 victory over No. 8 LSU to advance to the Sweet 16.
It’s a pretty good job out of Clay and probably made the broadcast that much more unique.
Here’s to more MS Paint highlights in the future.
