We all know what Browns enforcer Myles Garrett is capable of on the gridiron (he registered 12 sacks and four forced fumbles in 2020), but what about the hardwood? Garrett gave us a taste last summer, channeling his inner Vince Carter with a ferocious windmill dunk. Turns out, there’s plenty more where that came from.
The two-time Pro Bowler flexed his hoops muscles in a recent pickup game, taking his opponent coast to coast, then finishing him off with a savage one-handed slam he’ll be reliving in nightmares for the rest of his earthly existence. Look what you did to this man, Myles. Have you no heart?
Props to this ambitious defender, who, in a regrettable moment of both courage and immense naivety, decided it would be a good idea to get in front of the 6’4,” 272-pound freight train known as former first overall pick Myles Garrett. The star of the video, however, has to be Johnny Headband in the background, contorting his face as though he’d just witnessed a ruthless slaughter, which, in a way, he did.
While Garrett body-bagging his opponent with a grown-man dunk is certainly the headline, we might be overlooking the 25-year-old’s handle. For anyone who watched the And1 MixTape Tour growing up, Garrett’s behind-the-back dribble looked like something The Professor might pull from his bag of tricks.
Garrett is clearly enjoying himself on the local pickup circuit, though the Browns have to be holding their breath, praying their prized pass-rusher doesn’t twist an ankle. The Broncos encountered a similar situation this offseason when offensive lineman Ja’Wuan James tore his Achilles while working out on his own, away from the team’s facility in Boulder. The 28-year-old was promptly cut with Denver voiding his entire $10-million salary on the basis that his injury occurred off premises, a ruling James will almost certainly appeal.
