Steelers And Cam Heyward Agree On Contract Extension

Cam Heyward

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) The Pittsburgh Steelers and defensive tackle Cameron Heyward have agreed on a five-year contract extension through the 2024 season.

The announcement came from Heyward’s Twitter account Sunday night saying ‘Pittsburgh is where I belong.’

Heyward will be 35-years-old when this new contract expires, and it seems that he will be a Steeler for life.

The Steelers drafted Heyward in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft, and has become a leader and defensive captain for the team over the years.

Since his 2011 rookie season, Heyward has been selected to three Pro Bowls (2017-2019) and twice a First-team NFL All-Pro (2017, 2019).

Heyward’s 54 career sacks ranks him eighth in Steelers history.

Sources have told ESPN that the deal is worth a total value of $71.4 million over the next five seasons.
