DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The trade deadline is getting closer and closer, and Joey Gallo's name remains at the top of contending teams' wish lists. But they are going to have to pay a high price to get him out of Texas.
"I think it really depends on the team. You know, who's involved. And where we are as a group, (and) how we see Joey moving forward," Rangers general manager Chris Young said when asked if they feel like they need to be blown away in order to move Gallo.

"Nothing is off the table right now in terms of Joey. There are definitely scenarios where we see him as being a part of our long-term future. We're trying to flesh all of that out over the next ten days and understand how it shakes up. But as another general manager said to me, 'You would trade Mickey Mantle for Joe DiMaggio and Willie Mays. So certainly, if we were blown away, we'd have to be open-minded. But nonetheless, by no means are we going to sell low on Joey. We love the player."
According to multiple reports, the San Diego Padres and New York Yankees are among the teams targeting the 27-year-old ahead of the trade deadline on July 30.
