Rangers' third baseman Josh Jung and outfielder Travis Jankowski were forced to leave the club's series finale Wednesday in Cincinnati with injuries.
Jung exited after he was hit on the left hand by a fastball thrown by Reds pitcher Graham Ashcraft during his first plate appearance. He remained in the game for another half-inning before being replaced by Ezequiel Duran in the lineup.
Jankowski was also lifted from the game shortly after he dove for a ball in left-center field that fell for a hit. He was replaced by Leody Taveras in the lineup.
According to Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News, X-rays taken on Jung's hand were negative, and he has a swollen and bruised hand, while Jankowski has "left hip tightness."
Jung entered the game hitting .281 with an AL Rookie-leading five home runs and 16 RBI, while Jankowski has been the team's best hitter with a .340 average across 47 at-bats.
