Mad Max Scherzer isn't ready to call it a career just yet.
According to multiple reports, Scherzer has agreed to a one-year, $15.5 million deal with the Toronto Blue Jays.
MLB insider Jon Heyman was the first to report on the news.
Scherzer, 40, spent the last 1.5 seasons with the Texas Rangers and helped the club win its first championship in franchise history in 2023. But various injuries limited him to just 43 1/3 innings in 2024.
Scherzer is one of the most decorated active pitchers in MLB. He is an eight-time All-Star, two-time World Series champion, a three-time Cy Young winner, and led the league in wins four times. He also threw two no-hitters and led the National League in strikeouts 3 times. Scherzer is 11th all-time in strikeouts with 3,407.
