DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The hits keep on coming for the Rangers as the club placed first baseman/outfielder Ronald Guzman on the injured list with a torn meniscus in his right knee.

Guzman, who was making his first career start in the outfield, left Monday's game vs Tampa Bay in the bottom of the first inning after he was injured while pursuing a fly ball in shallow left field. Rangers shortstop Isiah Kiner-Falefa made the catch and Guzman collapsed near second base and ultimately had to be carted off the field.

The club has yet to announce a recovery timeline for Guzman.

The 26-year-old was hitting just .063 in 18 at-bats this season. In his place, the club has called up 28-year-old outfielder Adolis Garcia.

Garcia, who has been with the Rangers taxi squad on the club's first two road trips, was one of the club's best hitters in spring training, hitting .375 with three home runs and 13 RBI.

Guzman joins relievers Matt Bush, Jose Leclerc and Jonathan Hernandez on the list of players who have suffered significant injuries early in the season.
