DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Texas Rangers activated pitcher Kyle Gibson off of the 10-day injured list on Friday, allowing him to return to action for their matchup against the Tampa Bay Rays at Globe Life Field, the team announced.
Gibson was sent to the injured list on May 25 thanks to a strained groin, which was backdated to May 22.
Gibson has been off to a great start in 2021, posting a 3-0 record in 10 starts with a 2.24 ERA and 48 strikeouts over 60.1 innings.
To make room for Gibson, the Rangers optioned left-handed pitcher Wes Benjamin to the Triple-A Round Rock Express.
