DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Rangers general manager Jon Daniels discussed several things during his appearance Wednesday on the GBag Nation.

Here are the highlights:

Is Chris Woodward the right guy to lead the team in the future?

"Yeah, zero doubt in my mind. There's zero chance we'd make any sort of change there. I think anything in life you learn about people in good times and bad. I think sometimes you learn more about them in rough times ... how they handle it. Just the way he's gone about this, with the players, with the staff ... challenging guys ... keeping a positive mindset but not in a complacent sort of accepting losing sort of way.

"My guess is if you look back, I think Woody is going to be here for a long time (and) have a lot of success. (He'll) probably be here longer than I am. And I mean that as a good thing, honestly. I think he's a stud. Listen, when you look at the standings, as a collective group we're nowhere near where we need to be. And nobody feels good about that. Woody is certainly part of the solution going forward."

On his future with the club:

"I don't want to get into my contract status. We've never intentionally addressed that. It's a very fair question. It really is. When you look at the standings, you gotta ask these questions. It's been a few years since 2016 since we made the playoffs. Ultimately, I'm responsible for that. I'm accountable for that.

"This ownership group and the ownership group beforehand has treated me exceptionally well. I have a ton of respect for them and love for the organization (and) the people here. I genuinely want what's best for them. I believe that we can do some good things here, but the day that ownership decides that they think otherwise, I certainly will live with that decision. But up until that point, there going to get the most out of everything we've got."
