Rangers' Josh Jung suffers fractured wrist

The Texas Rangers suffered a brutal blow to their lineup when Josh Jung exited the club's 9-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday night at Tropicana Field with a fractured wrist.

Jung was injured when he was hit on the right hand as he attempted to swing at a sinker that was thrown up and in the zone by Rays reliever Phil Maton. Maton hit Evan Carter on the foot and Adolis Garcia on the hand in the same inning.

Rangers manager Bruce Bochy confirmed after the game that Jung fractured his wrist on the play and would miss an extended period of time.

Jung was off to a scorching hot start to the season, hitting .412 with two home runs and six RBI through four games. He was 3-4 with a home run and four RBI before leaving Monday's game.
