DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Rangers optioned struggling outfielder Leody Taveras to the club's alternate training site on Monday and called up left-handed reliever Hyeon-jong Yang. To make room on the roster for Yang, Texas transferred first baseman/outfielder Ronald Guzman to the 60-day injured list.
Taveras got off to a really slow start at the plate this season by hitting just .087 with one RBI and two stolen bases in 15 games.
