Tom Brady has spoken publicly about his family for the first time since reports surfaced about his marriage strife with Gisele Bündchen.
In a new episode of his “Let’s Go!” Podcast with Jim Gray and Larry Fitzgerald, Brady talks about how he’s sometimes struggled balancing football with family. The all-time great briefly retired this offseason before announcing his return 40 days later.

“You can’t stop your life even though sports is happening,” he said. “Even though I’m playing in my 23rd year, I have a freshman in high school that is playing football, too. I have a 12-year-old that is going through his life. I have a 9-year-old that is going through her life. And I have parents.”
Brady shares two children with Gisele — Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 9 — and also has another son, Jack, 15, with ex Bridget Moynahan. His mother, Galynn, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016.
Last month, Brady took an 11-day hiatus from Buccaneers training camp for mysterious reasons. When asked about his absence, he ominously said there is “a lot of s— going on.”
The New York Post reported recently that Gisele is unhappy with Brady’s decision to return to the gridiron.
Ultimately, Brady says he came back to football because he feels like he can still play. He led the NFL in passing yards and touchdowns last season at 44 years old.
“I just felt like I had a little left. And I want to give it a shot,” he said. “I owed it to my teammates and our great coaches and our whole organization.”
The Buccaneers kick off their season Sunday night against the Cowboys at 8:20 p.m. ET.
