Ángel Hernández has long been viewed as one of the worst umpires in Major League Baseball, but the 59-year-old had an especially bad day even by his standards Tuesday.
During a game between the Houston Astros and Los Angeles Angels, Hernández made over 20 incorrect calls:
Umpire Scorecard, which grades the performance of each home plate umpire, only gave Hernández slightly better marks, and suggested that he did actively hurt the Astros chances of winning a game that they ultimately pulled out 4-2:
Earlier this month, Hernández lost a suit against Major League Baseball in which he suggested that racial discrimination had prevented him from advancing in the umpiring world.
