Jose Altuve likely wishes he was spending his birthday just about anywhere else.

The Astros second baseman turned 31 on Thursday, and spent it at Yankee Stadium, where he’s been showered with boos and jeers for the last two days, with Houston playing its first series in the Bronx since news of the infamous cheating scandal broke after the 2019 season.

Yankee fans had been cheering “F-k Altuve!” since Tuesday night, but switched things up for Altuve’s special day on Thursday, instead chanting “F-k your birthday!” as Altuve stood on first base after leading off the game with a single. Warning: below clips contain NSFW language.

Altuve has certainly received the harshest of treatment in the Astros’ visit to New York. He edged out Yankees fan favorite Aaron Judge for the MVP award in 2017, when the team’s trash can banging scheme was in full force, and he smashed the ALCS-clinching home run off Aroldis Chapman in 2019.

Fans have made their voices heard all series, but have saved their loudest, and most creative, chants for the birthday boy.
