The injury bug is once again plaguing the Yankees roster.

Second baseman DJ LeMahieu was placed on the 10-day injured list on Sunday, one day after being removed from a game in what was revealed to be a sprained left thumb.

LeMahieu is the third Yankee to be placed on the IL in the last week – joining star sluggers Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge.

It is uncertain how long the Yankees can expect to be without LeMahieu – who is leading the American League with a .411 batting average and .456 on-base percentage.

X-rays on LeMahieu came back negative on Saturday, but he underwent more imaging tests and the results of those have not yet been disclosed.

The Yankees recalled Miguel Andujar – the 2018 AL Rookie of the Year runner-up – from the alternate site to replace LeMahieu on the roster, but it is unclear how much playing time he will receive as Tyler Wade and Thairo Estrada figure to be the second basemen going forward.

The Yankees underwent an unprecedented amount of IL stints last year and proved to have the depth to withstand such injuries to star players, winning 103 games to take the AL East.

They are currently atop the AL East at 14-6, but with six weeks in the season remaining, the team could be staring at a greater challenge than last year if all three are going to miss a significant amount of time.
