Every Friday night at 10, Amber Star hosts The Friday Night Flashback. This week she ventures back to the year 1984, when Ronald Reagan defeated Walter Mondale to be re-elected as president. Mondale's VP pick was the first woman to ever be on a major party ticket for president, Geraldine Ferraro.
1984 was also the year Michael Jackson's hair caught fire during the making of a Pepsi commercial, Tetris was a brand new video game, and The Cosby Show, Who's The Boss, and Punky Brewster were new on TV. Big movies included some John Hughes classics: The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink and Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Other big movies were Beverly Hills Cop and Ghostbusters. What music were we listening to? Tune in Friday night to find out.
