As the Ravens secondary is getting healthy with the bye week, the defense lost a key contributor along the defensive line.
Ravens LB Pernell McPhee expected to miss rest of season with triceps injury, coach John Harbaugh said. This is a tough hit to the Baltimore pass rush. McPhee was also a key veteran leader on the defense.

October 21, 2019 Outside linebacker Pernell McPhee produced well in the Ravens first six games, as he recorded 19 tackles and three sacks.
McPhee, 30, was enjoying a successful second stint with Baltimore. News broke after the Ravens 30-16 victory that McPhee tore his triceps and will likely miss the rest of the season.
McPhee filled the void left behind by Terrell Suggs and CJ Mosley of the physical, smash mouth defense of the past.
Head coach John Harbaugh spoke about McPhee’s leadership and productivity. “He’s been instrumental with the young guys, been a very good player for us. I see no reason why he can’t recover from the triceps injury and be back next year stronger than ever.”

October 21, 2019 Rookie Jaylon Ferguson will likely take over McPhee’s snaps, as he saw 64% of the snaps against Seattle.
There is no telling if the Ravens will use a linebacker by committee to replace McPhee or if they will look to acquire a linebacker. Ferguson, Jihad Ward, and Tyus Bowser are all capable of making an impact but the Ravens should not hesitate to scan the trade market.
Linebackers such as Vic Beasley Jr. from the Falcons would upgrade the Ravens pass-rush ahead of a difficult schedule that includes Tom Brady, Deshaun Watson, and Jared Goff.
