On the same day the Ravens traded away former 2016 4th round draft pick, Alex Lewis, to the Jets; defensive line coach Joe Cullen made something perfectly clear to two higher draft picks from the class of 2017...it's time to make a play.

The Ravens need to find production out of their pass rush and after losing Terrell Suggs and Z'Darius Smith to free agency, they are left with few options. Matthew Judon is expected to be the top dog in the pass rush but outside of him there is no true frontrunner to start on the opposite side of him. Baltimore signed two veterans in Shane Ray and Pernell McPhee in hopes of getting some production out of them but what they really want and need is someone young to emerge.

Tim Williams and Tyus Bowser were both drafted in the 2017 draft to become forces in the pass rush. So far through 2 seasons in the NFL, neither of them has stepped up to the task. Bowser - a second round pick - and Williams - a third round pick - are out of chances to get another year to "develop". The team needs pass rush help and they need it now. Ravens defensive line coach, Joe Cullen's comments today about the pass rush speaks volumes about how urgently they want Williams and Bowser to produce.

All eyes are on Lamar Jackson this preseason but Bowser and Williams might be the most intriguing storylines to follow throughout camp.
