The third inning came with more runs on the board by Baltimore.  Villar struck out as the lead-off hitter. After striking out his first plate appearance, Trey Mancini sent a line drive to center field far enough for him to safely reach first base.  Nunez with another hit triples sending Mancini home and the Orioles up 3-1.  With Nunez on third, Severino hit a sacrifice fly far enough to let Nunez score and the Orioles up by 4-1.

After Straily's 15-pitch inning, it was time for the Orioles to bat.  Villar was the lead-off hitter in the seventh inning, knocking his seventh home run giving the Orioles a two-run lead.

Straily stayed through until the first batter in the ninth inning, where a line drive led Josh Harrison reach first base.  Shawn Armstrong came in to relieve Straily, walking Grenier, now with two men on base.  With the help from the defense, Armstrong was able to record the save.

The Orioles beat the Tigers 5-3 and Armstrong gets his first save.  The Orioles play Detroit again tomorrow.  Baltimore traded right-handed pitcher Yefrey Ramirez to the Pirates for either a player to be named later or cash.  Dylan Bundy is on the mound tomorrow in the second game of the series.
