BALTIMORE -- Major League Baseball has suspended the start of Opening Day for at least two weeks and cancels Spring Training. This decision is based on the COVID-19 public health threat.

— MLB Communications (@MLB_PR) March 12, 2020The Orioles were scheduled to make a trip to Fort Myers to play against the Minnesota Twins on Thursday. However, the team was told to turn around a few minutes into the trip.

This announcement follows the cancellation of NCAA tournaments and suspending several other sporting events that include the NHL and NBA.
