New Orioles Executive Vice President and General Manager Mike Elias joined Scott & Jeremy today live from Orioles Spring Training in Sarasota. Elias discussed numerous topics after a little over a week of Spring Training.
He said that new assistant GM Sig Mijdal is busy interviewing candidates to add to the quickly expanding analytics department. He talked about his hands-on approach to being a GM during Spring Training and he also mentioned that he will be scouting high school players while in Florida.
On the player side, he said he was encouraged by what he has seen from Chris Davis so far and he's been very impressed with former 2013 first overall draft pick, Hunter Harvey.
