Toronto already put in a new pitcher after Derek Law for the second inning.

Hess came into the third inning throwing just 32 pitches.  Yesterday, against Toronto, John Means did not get out of the first inning until 33 pitches.  Galvis grounded out and Maile flied out to right-center leaving just one out left. Biggio reached base on a walk, Guerrero singled, and and gurriel walked.  Now, with the bases loaded Grichuk was up to bat.  Grichuk's first plate appearance was a ground out in the second inning.

Hess loaded the bases for the second time Wednesday night.  Miguel Castro started to warm up as Hess's velocity started to decrease on his fastballs and sliders.  After an RBI-single for Lourdes Gurriel Jr., it was time for a pitching change.  Miguel Castro came in for Hess after 96 pitches. There were zero outs in the fifth and the bases were loaded again.  A wild pitch by Castro gave Guerrero the go-ahead run to score.  Blue Jays were now leading 2-1.  The bases were loaded for a third time after walking Justin Smoak. Orioles needed one more out when Rowdy Tellez came up to bat.  Tellez hit his second career grand slam putting the Blue Jays way ahead, 6-1.  Baltimore finally finished the inning on a pop out to third baseman Rio Ruiz.

Both Rio Ruiz and Hanser Alberto reached base on walks at the bottom of the fifth inning.  An infield single by Villar put Alberto out at second.  With two outs in the fifth, Santander was up to bat.  A wild pitch by Derek Law gave Ruiz the go-ahead to put Baltimore on the board again, 6-2.

Evan Phillips came in the sixth inning after a 23-pitch inning for Castro.  Phillips walked the first batter he faced and retired the second. Guerrero singled twice already before hitting an RBI-double, however, was able to reach third base.  With Gurrero on third, it was easy for him to score by Gurriel's RBI-single.  Blue Jays were now leading 8-2.  Phillips retired Grichuk and Smoak grounded out to close the 32-pitch inning.

Dan Straily made his first appearance in 10 days in the seventh inning.  A quick 13 pitch inning for Straily retiring all three batters he faced.  Jordan Romano was the third pitcher to take the mound for Toronto on Wednesday night. The exact same time the rain began to fall.

Straily stayed in for the eighth inning.  A short 11 pitch inning for him put the Orioles up to bat.  Villar doubled and Santander walked to put the Orioles in scoring position with two outs left.

Elvis Luciano came to pitch for Toronto in the eighth inning.  After a ground out by Broxton, a double by Villar, and walking Santander, Joe Biagini came to the mound.  Biagini walked Mancini, loading the bases for the first time for Baltimore Wednesday night.  Sisco sent a line drive on the first pitch, to right field letting Santander and Villar safely get to home plate. Orioles now trailing 8-4 with Mancini on third and Sisco at second.  Nunez came up and grounded, letting Mancini score.  Orioles only trail 8-5.  The first left-handed pitcher, Tim Mayza, came in for Biagini.  Two pitches and one RBI later came in the Blue Jays fourth reliever in the eighth inning, Daniel Hudson.  Hudson got the job done Toronto getting the last out in the eighth inning.

Straily faced his last batter in the ninth inning, retiring Grichuk.  Paul Fry came in to take the mound to finish the ninth inning.  Hudson stayed in to close for Toronto.  Chris Davis made an appearance pinch-hitting for Keon Broxton and walked.  Villar was at full count when he was hit by a pitch on his lower right foot.  The Orioles were now in scoring position, with zero outs and a few hits away from either tying the game or winning.   Both Davis and Villar advanced on a wild pitch right before Santandar struck out on a pop up.  Mancini, who hit a homerun earlier, struck out, putting Sisco up to bat again, with two outs in the final inning.  Sisco, who aided in the eighth inning rally, was the last out of the inning.  Orioles fall to Toronto 8-6 and are now 21-46.
