Highly regarded Orioles prospect Austin Hays joined Vinny and Haynie earlier to talk about trying to work his way back from a thumb injury. Hays is currently playing at Bowie and is expected to be elevated to Norfolk in the near future.
Hays performed really well this Spring batting .351 with five homers and 13 RBI, but ended up being optioned. He said he understood the decision by the organization after he missed time last year due to injuries. Hays really loved the atmosphere in Sarasota under the club's new regime of Mike Elias at General Manager and Brandon Hyde as Manager.
