It's been a familiar refrain the last two decades, but Tom Brady is in the Super Bowl. Brady guided the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a 31-26 victory on Sunday afternoon, securing his 10th Super Bowl appearance, and first as Tampa's QB. Brady had a solid game, throwing 3 TD's but his trio of interceptions in the second half almost let Green Bay stage a comeback. While Tom will get a lot of the attention, the Buccaneers can thank their defense shutting down Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense when it mattered most. The Bucs defense pressured Rodgers all afternoon, blitzing on 40 percent of the Packers drop-backs. Tampa now faces the tall task of shutting down the defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs, but with Tom Brady under center, it seems like the Bucs have a real chance at winning the big game.
On Monday morning, the Big Bad Morning Show welcomed 95.3 WDAE's Zac Blobner to the show, getting a ground-level perspective on the Bucs' Super Bowl birth. Tampa has had an incredible year for sports, with their hockey team winning a Stanley Cup and the baseball team making it to the World Series. The guys had to ask: is Tampa the new Title Town? Zac also gives an idea of what it will be like for Tampa to play in the Super Bowl while also hosting, becoming the first team ever to do so. At the same time, Tampa opens up as the early underdog, a first for a Tom-Brady-led team. With that in mind, listen for Zac's way-too-early prediction for Super Bowl 55.
