The Steelers will continue to ride the hot hand of quarterback Mason Rudolph.

Speaking during his weekly news conference, Head Coach Mike Tomlin said they will stick with Rudolph, who has looked impressive in the past two starts.

Tomlin clarified Kenny Pickett’s status, saying that his ankle injury is less of an issue this week.

“I think Kenny’s availability is less in question this week, I anticipate him being available to practice, that being said, we’re going to leave the ball in Mason Rudolph’s hands,” said Tomlin.

Tomlin added that Rudolph has done a good job protecting the ball has helped the team score more points

Rudolph has clearly been the best quarterback for the Steelers this season, but Tomlin still expressed his confidence in Pickett.

“I know Kenny is very capable, in particularly as it pertains to this matchup, Kenny has led us to victory late in the game the last two times we played Baltimore and so we feel like we’ve got two capable guys,” said Tomlin.

Even though he was medically cleared, PIckett was inactive on Sunday against the Seahawks.

The Steelers have scored 30 or more points the past two games with Rudolph, the most all season.

While he didn’t have any passing touchdowns, Rudolph has 274 yards, going 18 for 24 with a passing rating of 112.2.

Tomlin was also asked if Rudolph will start if the Steelers make it to the postseason. He said it depends on how Saturday’s game against Baltimore goes.

The Steelers need help, but a win against the Ravens in Baltimore will increase the Steelers chances of making the playoff to 70 percent.
