The Capitals made a trio of deals in the final day ahead of Monday's NHL trade deadline.

Headlining those moves was a deal that sent 25-year-old Jakub Vrana to Detroit for 6-foot-5 winger Anthony Mantha. The Caps also gave up forward Richard Panik along with a 2021 first-round pick and 2022 second-round pick in the deal (full trade details here).

The Caps also acquired forward Michael Raffl from the Flyers on Monday, in exchange for a 2021 fifth-round pick (previously acquired from Vegas Golden Knights). Philadelphia will retain 25 percent of Raffl's salary, Washington announced. Raffl will be an unrestricted free agent after the 2020-21 season.

Raffl, 32, recorded eight points on three goals and five assists in 34 games for the Flyers this season. The left winger led Philly forwards with 23 blocked shots and was tied for fifth on the team with 50 hits. He also ranked sixth among Flyers forwards with 37:24 penalty kill minutes. He's recorded at least 20 points in five of his last seven seasons.

Raffl ranks third in NHL history among Austrian-born players with 160 career points (81 goals, 79 assists). He becomes the first Austrian-born player in Caps history. Raffl has played in 28 career playoff games, recording eight points (5 goals, 3 assists), including two game-winning goals.

The Capitals got the ball rolling Sunday afternoon, trading 23-year-old defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler to the New Jersey Devils in exchange for Arizona's conditional third-round pick in 2021. Siegenthaler appeared in seven games for the Caps this season but did not record any points. A second-round selection (57th overall) by Washington in 2015, Siegenthaler's recorded 13 points (2 goals, 11 assists) in 97 career games for the Caps.
