Capitals winger Tom Wilson will miss Game 2 of Washington's first-round playoff series against the Florida Panthers with an undisclosed lower-body injury.

Caps head coach Peter Laviolette dropped the news Thursday afternoon, hours before his team's 7:30 p.m. puck drop against Florida. Wilson is being listed as "day to day," though Laviolette would not speculate about Wilson's availability for Game 3.

Laviolette previously said Wednesday that Wilson would be a "game-time decision." Wilson left Game 1 Tuesday night in the first period, a short time after scoring the first goal of the game, and did not return. Laviolette has declined to disclose specifics about the injury.
